Images printed on EDGE Positive have an expected performance life of up to three years when not subjected to screen exposures. Printed images provide suitable U.V. density for 175 minutes of accumulated exposure to a 1500-watt mercury halide lamp.
The construction of EDGE Positive is not conducive to cutting with electronic cutting equipment.
If necessary, cutting of EDGE Positive can be achieved manually by using a straight edge and
razor or a pair of scissors.
When printed with GerberColor Spot Black (GCS-12), EDGE Positive images will have a U.V.
density of greater than 2.0. When printed with GerberColor Jet Black (GCX-12), EDGE Positive
images will have a U.V. density of greater than 3.5. The unprinted U.V. density of EDGE
Positive is less than 0.25.
The necessary exposure time is dependent upon the screen emulsion and light source used.
As a guideline, a 300-second exposure would be sufficient if a 1500-watt mercury halide lamp is
used with a 160-mesh screen and a standard Diazo-based emulsion.
